Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Songboxd, you agree to these terms. Please read them. If you have questions, reach out at contact@songboxd.com.
1. Your Account
You must be at least 13 years old to use Songboxd. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep your account credentials secure.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately at contact@songboxd.com.
One person may maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or manipulate community features is not permitted.
2. Your Content
You own the reviews, ratings, lists, and other content you create on Songboxd. By posting content, you grant Songboxd a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute it as part of the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. Do not post content that is defamatory, harassing, illegal, or that infringes on another party's intellectual property rights.
You may delete your content at any time. Some residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period before being fully removed.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- •Post spam, fake reviews, or manipulate ratings to misrepresent albums or artists.
- •Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- •Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or Songboxd systems.
- •Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the platform in ways that violate MusicBrainz's usage policies.
- •Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
- •Impersonate another person or entity.
4. Beta Service & Availability
Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. We do our best to keep the service stable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Songboxd is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion, with or without prior notice.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Songboxd and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data or service interruptions. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the service is to stop using it.
6. Third-Party Services
Songboxd uses MusicBrainz for music metadata and Cover Art Archive for album artwork, both of which are subject to their own terms of use. Music data provided by these services is made available under open licenses; we do not claim ownership of it.
7. Changes & Contact
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Changes are effective when posted, and the "Last updated" date will reflect the revision. Continued use of Songboxd after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
