Getting Started
1. Create an Account
Sign up for a free account to start tracking your music. You can register with your email or use social authentication.

Use the search feature to find albums by artist name, album title, or browse trending releases. Our database includes millions of albums from MusicBrainz.

Click on any album to view its details, then use the "Log Album" button to rate it and write a review. Your logs appear on your profile and in the activity feed.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I search for an album?
Use the search bar in the navigation or visit the search page. You can search by album title, artist name, or browse trending releases. Our database is powered by MusicBrainz, so you'll find millions of albums.
How does the rating system work?
Albums are rated on a 5-star scale (0-10 points). Half-star increments are supported. You can rate an album when logging it, and you can update your rating at any time.
Can I edit or delete my reviews?
Yes! You can edit your reviews and ratings at any time. Simply navigate to the album page and click the edit button on your log entry.
How do I create a list?
Go to the Lists page and click "Create List." Give your list a name and description, then start adding albums. You can add albums to lists from any album page.
What's the difference between favorites, collection, and wantlist?
Favorites: Albums you absolutely love and want to highlight.
Collection: Albums you own or have in your personal collection.
Wantlist: Albums you want to listen to or add to your collection.
How do I follow other users?
Visit any user's profile page and click the "Follow" button. You'll see their activity in your feed and can discover new music through their reviews and logs.
Can I import my data from other services?
Currently, we don't support bulk imports, but we're working on adding this feature. For now, you can manually log albums as you discover them.
Is Songboxd free to use?
Yes! Songboxd is completely free to use. Create an account, log albums, write reviews, and connect with other music lovers at no cost.
